Ski Resort Weather Overview
Recent Conditions
Resorts across North America experienced predominantly rainy conditions over the past three days, with temperatures ranging from the 20s in high-elevation Mountain West locations to the 70s across the Midwest and Northeast. The Pacific Northwest saw mild temperatures in the 40s-50s with scattered rain showers, while southeastern resorts experienced warm conditions in the 60s-70s with widespread precipitation. Cloud cover was variable, with some western resorts enjoying clearer skies while eastern regions saw more overcast conditions.
Forecast Ahead
The upcoming four-day period brings a notable pattern shift, with significant snow potential developing across the Mountain West. Several Colorado resorts including Arapahoe Basin, Breckenridge, Keystone, and Loveland could see accumulating snowfall, with some locations potentially receiving several inches. Utah resorts like Brighton, Solitude, and Powder Mountain are also positioned for snowfall events.
Wyoming's higher elevations, particularly Hogadon Basin and Snowy Range, show strong snow potential. Montana's higher terrain may see mixed rain and snow showers. Most snow activity will occur mid-week as a cold front pushes through.
Meanwhile, eastern regions face a wetter pattern with showers and thunderstorms likely, particularly across the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic, and portions of the Midwest. The Pacific Northwest will see improving conditions with decreasing rain chances and more sunshine breaking through.
Temperatures will remain seasonably mild for late May, though Mountain West locations will experience cooler conditions conducive to snowfall at upper elevations.
